About SimpleCalc Israel
A free, professional platform for calculating salary, taxes, and employee rights in Israel — built with olim, internationals, and employers in mind, in plain English.
Our story
SimpleCalc Israel started from a real need: many people working in Israel — locals and newcomers alike — struggle to understand how much money actually reaches their bank account, what they're owed if their job ends, and how many vacation days they've earned. For olim and internationals, that confusion is compounded by payslips, tax forms, and government calculators that only exist in Hebrew.
We set out to build a simple, free, and accurate tool that helps anyone working in Israel understand their rights with a few clicks — no expensive consultation or confusing paperwork required, and no need to read Hebrew.
Every calculator is based on current Israel Tax Authority, Bituach Leumi, and Ministry of Labor data for the 2026 tax year, refreshed at the start of each new tax year.
Who's behind the site
The site is built and maintained by Noam Cohen, an Israeli software engineer with over a decade of experience building software systems, after discovering — like most employees — how hard it is to read a payslip and confirm that every entitlement is actually being paid. What began as a personal gross-to-net calculator grew into the full toolkit you see here, now extended with an English-language version for olim and internationals.
Our approach is engineering-first: every calculation formula on the site is covered by automated tests that check it against real payslips and against the official calculators published by the Tax Authority and Bituach Leumi. When a law changes — like the 2026 tax-bracket reform or the April minimum-wage increase — it's implemented, tested, and logged in the changelog before it goes live.
Every figure on the site is taken from an official source (the Israel Tax Authority, the National Insurance Institute, the Ministry of Labor) and cross-checked against a second source before publication. The full formulas, the source for every number, and the documented changelog are available on our methodology page. Found a mistake? Let us know through the contact page — every fix is documented transparently.
